Before you connect Instagram
You need an Instagram Business or Creator account. Switching is free in the Instagram app under Settings, then Account type.
The Instagram section appears in your console menu once Instagram is switched on for Lustre.
Connecting Instagram
- Press Connect Instagram.
- Sign in to Instagram and allow access.
- You come back to the console with the message Instagram connected. Your latest posts appear on your site shortly.
The section then shows the account you connected, how many posts are cached and when they were last synced.
Choosing what shows on your site
- Show my Instagram on my site: untick to hide your posts without disconnecting.
- Reels only (hide photo posts).
- Posts to show: 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12.
Press Save.
When the change shows: your live site shows it within 2 minutes of saving. Refresh the page to see the change. More about live site updates.
Syncing, reconnecting and disconnecting
- Sync now fetches your newest posts straight away.
- If the section says needs reconnecting, press Reconnect Instagram. While it is disconnected, your site shows your photo gallery instead.
- Disconnect removes the connection and the cached posts from your site.
