Capture app: adding before and after photos

Add before and after photos to your site from a computer, or snap them on a phone at the chair. Lustre puts the before above the after in one branded photo.

Add a look from a computer

  1. Under Add a look, press Choose a before and pick the before photo.
  2. Frame it: drag the photo to move it and use Zoom to show more or less of it. Only what is inside the frame goes on your site. Press Use this photo.
  3. Do the same with Choose an after. An after on its own works too.
  4. Check the Preview. It shows the look exactly as your site will show it. To change a photo's framing, press Adjust framing under it. To swap a photo, press the photo.
  5. Add a Caption (optional).
  6. Press Add to site. Nothing goes on your site until you do.

Lustre puts the before above the after in one photo, stamps it with your salon name or logo and adds it to your site.

When the change shows: your live site shows it within 2 minutes of saving. Refresh the page to see the change. More about live site updates.

At the chair: opening the capture app on a phone

The capture app is made for phones and opens the camera so you can snap looks at the chair. Under At the chair, press 📸 Open capture app, or press Copy link and send the link to your phone.

Install it on your phone so the camera opens in one tap. It installs as its own app, Lustre Capture, separate from the console. On Android, open the capture app in Google Chrome, tap the three dots, then Install app. Use Chrome, not another browser, or Google Play Protect may block it. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

Team members sign in with their own email (see Login email). A shared salon phone or tablet can join with the QR code under Team access.

Using the capture app

  1. When you greet a client, tap ＋ New look. Type a name in Name (optional) if you like, to keep track.
  2. Under Before, tap Take / choose and snap the before photo. Frame it: drag it to move it and pinch or use Zoom to show more or less of it, then tap Use this photo.
  3. Tap Keep for later to put the look aside while you work. It stays on the board with its photo, marked Before taken - waiting on the after. Anyone on your team can pick it up.
  4. When you finish, tap the look to open it and snap the After, framing it the same way. Tap Retake to replace a photo.
  5. Check the Preview: it shows the look as the site will show it. Tap Adjust framing under a photo to change it.
  6. Tick Client is happy for this photo to appear on the salon's site / socials. Only use photos the client has agreed to.
  7. Tap Complete. The look is sent for your approval under Before & after, or straight to your site if auto-share is on.

Tap ✕ on a look to discard it. This removes it and its photos for everyone. Tap ‹ Console at the top to go back to the console.

Capture settings

  • Photo capture: turn on to let phones send looks through. While it is off, the capture app says Photo capture is off.
  • Auto-share looks: skip approval, so looks go straight to your site and to Telegram.

Both switches save as soon as you change them.
