Signing in to the salon console

Open lustre.airea.co.nz/console. The screen is headed Salon console and gives you three ways in:

  • Email me a login link. Type the email address on your Lustre account and press Email me a login link. We email you a one-time link. Open it, then press Sign in on the screen that appears. Each link works once.
  • Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft, if your account email is a Google or Microsoft address.

If the console says That login link has expired or has already been used, enter your email again for a fresh link. If it says Too many login requests, wait a few minutes and try again.

If your email looks after more than one salon, the console opens the salon you last used on that device.

Finding your way around the console

On a computer, every section is listed down the left under Manage: Site, Setup checklist, Content, Hours, Services, Team, Reviews, Before & after, Capture app, Instagram, Bookings, Classes, Clients, Booking settings, Telegram and Billing. Help sits under the list and opens the help page for the section you are on.

Your salon name (and logo, once you add one) shows at the top. The moon button switches the console to dark mode and the sun button switches it back. The console remembers the section you were last on, so a refresh keeps you where you were.

The Instagram section only appears once Instagram is switched on for Lustre.

Using the console on a phone

On a phone the console opens at Bookings, and a bar along the bottom gives you Bookings, Clients, Services, Hours and More. More lists every other section, plus Help. Your phone's back button returns to the section you were on before.

Some sections are laid out for small screens:

  • Services and Team show a short list. Tap a service or stylist to edit it, then press Done. Your edits stay on the page until you press Save services or Save team.
  • Booking settings folds each part down to its heading. Tap a heading to open it.
  • Each booking shows its next step (for example Take payment or Check in). Tap ⋯ for everything else you can do with it.

Adding the console to your home screen

When you first open the console on a phone, a banner offers to add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

  • iPhone: press How?, then in Safari tap the Share icon (the square with an up arrow) and choose Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: open the console in Google Chrome, then press Add app, or open the Chrome menu (the three dots) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Use Chrome, not another browser: some Android browsers build an app that Google Play Protect blocks as "built for an older version of Android". Links and QR codes open in your phone's default browser, which on many phones (Samsung included) is not Chrome. Either open the Chrome app and go to lustre.airea.co.nz/console yourself, or set Chrome as your default browser in Settings, under Apps, then Default apps.

Press ✕ on the banner if you don't want it.

Saving changes in the console

Each card has its own save button, such as Save content, Save hours or Save booking settings. Nothing on a card is kept until you press its button.

  • A green message at the bottom of the screen confirms the save. For changes to your website it adds: Your live site shows it within 2 minutes. Refresh it to see the change.
  • A red message such as Could not save. Check your connection and try again. means nothing was saved. Check your connection and press the button again.
  • If you try to leave a section with unsaved edits, the console asks first. Choose Stay to go back and save, or Leave without saving to drop them.
  • Your session has ended. Refresh and sign in again. means you have been signed out. Refresh the page and sign in.

When saved changes show on your live site

When you save something that appears on your website, such as your hours, menu, team, photos, reviews or theme, Lustre publishes your site again straight away. Your live site shows the change within 2 minutes. It is usually much quicker. If you make several changes in a row, Lustre waits until you pause, then publishes them together.

Refresh your site to see the change. Every visit checks for the latest version, so a page you already had open updates as soon as you refresh it.

Online booking is different: when a client books, times and prices are checked live, so changes under Booking settings apply to the next booking straight away.

Logging out of the console

Press Log out at the top right. On a shared salon computer, always log out when you finish.

Next: Setup checklist
