What the Bookings page shows
From top to bottom:
- Today: today's appointments, with + Add booking.
- Walk-in queue, if you have turned it on.
- Last 30 days: your takings and bookings. See Your takings.
- Upcoming: bookings still to come.
- Waitlist: clients waiting for a time.
- Recent bookings: the latest bookings made.
- Accounting exports, once you have takings to export.
Each booking shows the time, a status, the service, client, stylist, booking reference, price and what has been paid or is still to collect.
Booking statuses

| Awaiting payment | The client is still at the payment step online. |
| Expired | The client didn't finish paying, so the time was released. |
Adding a phone or walk-in booking
Press + Add booking under Today. You need at least one service on your menu first.
- Client: search your clients by name, phone or email and choose one. For someone new, fill in Name, Mobile, Email (optional), and tick Agreed to marketing if they said yes.
- Services: tick one or more.
- Stylist: choose one, or leave Any / no preference.
- Set the Date and Time, and add a Note if you like.
- Press Add booking.
The booking goes in as confirmed with the full price to collect at the appointment. If the time is already taken, the console says so and offers Book anyway (double-book). Only use it if you mean to.
Booking buttons
On a computer, every button shows on the booking. On a phone, only the next step shows. Tap ⋯ for the rest.
- Take payment: record or take what is still owed. See Taking payment.
- Move booking: change the day or time. See Moving a booking.
- Check in: the client has arrived. The booking becomes Completed.
- No-show: the client didn't come. The booking is closed and nothing is refunded. This can't be undone.
- Cancel/refund: cancels the booking and refunds anything the client paid online, in full, to their card. If nothing was paid online, the button says Cancel booking. This can't be undone.
- Charge no-show fee: appears on a no-show when you have turned on the manual no-show charge and the client saved a card. It charges the fee set in Booking settings. See Booking tools.
- Assignments: for a visit with several services, choose the technician for each one. Only a plan with no clashes can be saved.
- Book again: rebook the same client. See Book again.
- Text reminder: opens your phone's messages app with a reminder already written. You send it from your own phone. Lustre doesn't send it and there is no cost.
Clients can't cancel online. They can move their own booking from their confirmation link, up to the reschedule window you set. To cancel, they contact you.
Taking payment at the appointment
Press Take payment on the booking. Under How was the balance paid? choose:
- Take payment with Lustre: makes a card payment link on your own Stripe account. Press Create payment link, then Open payment page to let the client pay on your device, Copy link to send it yourself, or Email link to client. The link lasts 30 minutes and the booking marks itself paid as soon as Stripe confirms. Needs at least $1.00 and a connected Stripe account.
- Charge saved card: shown when the client saved a card when they booked. Press Charge saved card. If their bank asks them to approve the charge, send a payment link instead.
- Paid by EFTPOS, Paid by bank transfer, Paid by cash or Other: records what was paid. No money moves through Lustre. Press Record payment.
Check the Amount (it starts at what is owed) and add a Note if the final price changed. If tips are on, enter a Tip or press No tip, 10%, 15% or 20%. The whole tip goes to the salon.
The 0.5% Lustre Payments fee applies only to payments taken through Lustre (a payment link or saved card). EFTPOS, bank transfer, cash and other payments carry no Lustre fee. See Lustre Payments fees.
Moving a booking to another time
- Press Move booking. The pop-up shows the current time.
- Under Choose another day, pick a date. The free times for that day appear.
- Tap a time and press Move booking. Press Keep current time to leave it as it is.
If someone takes that time first, the console says That time was just taken and shows the times still free.
Book again and repeat appointments
Book again rebooks the same client, services and stylist.
- First appointment starts six weeks after the original, at the same time. Change it if you need to.
- Repeat every sets the gap between appointments, from 1 to 12 weeks.
- Number of appointments books up to 12 at once. Leave it at 1 for a single booking.
Press Book. If any dates clash with other bookings, the rest are still booked and the console lists the clashes. Press Book the clashes anyway only if you want to double-book them.
Walk-in queue
Turn the queue on under Booking tools. It then appears on the Bookings page.
- Enter the Client name, choose the Service and, if you like, a Preferred technician. Press Add to queue.
- The queue shows an estimated start time based on who is free.
- Press Call when you are ready for them, Seat now when they sit down, or Left if they leave. Press Complete when you finish.
Seating a client creates a normal booking, so your calendar stays accurate. If nobody is free, the console asks whether to seat them anyway.
Waitlist
Clients can join the waitlist from your booking page, or you can add them with + Add to waitlist: Name, Mobile, Email (optional), Stylist, Preferred day (optional), the services they want and a Note.
When a booking is cancelled or moved, Lustre alerts you to who is waiting for that time. Then, for each person:
- Text opens your phone's messages app with an offer written for you.
- Email booking link emails them a link to book.
- Booked marks them as booked.
- Remove takes them off the list.
Your takings: the last 30 days
The Last 30 days card shows Collected, Booked value, Appointments (with any no-shows), To collect, Lustre fees, Upcoming and New clients, plus your Top services.
Accounting exports for Xero
The Accounting exports card downloads your takings in Xero's import format: online payments, balances taken by EFTPOS, cash or bank transfer, no-show fees, vouchers, tips and refunds.
- Turn on GST-registered salon if you are registered for GST. Takings then carry 15% GST. This saves straight away.
- Set the From and To dates. They start at last month.
- Press Xero sales (CSV). In Xero, import it under Sales > Invoices > Import and choose "Tax inclusive".
If you have connected Stripe, Stripe account for Xero (CSV) is also offered. Only use it if you don't use Xero's own Stripe bank feed, otherwise payments are counted twice.
