Selling Seats in Classes and Courses with Lustre

Adding a class

Open Classes and press + New class. Fill in:

Class name and Description: what clients learn and what is included.
Artist: who runs it, or No specific artist when the whole salon is used.
Where: leave blank to use your salon address.
Seat price, Seats in the class and Most seats one person can book.
Sessions: one row per day, with a date, start and end time. A 3-day course has three rows, and one seat covers every session. Press + Add session for another day.

Press Add class. To change a class later, press Edit on it. You cannot reduce the seats below the number already sold.

How a class affects appointments

While a class runs, its artist cannot be booked for appointments. A class with no specific artist blocks the whole salon. If something is already booked at that time, Lustre lists it when you save. Move those bookings first, or press Save anyway and sort them out with the clients.

Class sessions also appear in the artist's calendar feed, so they show in their phone calendar.

Full payment or a deposit

Choose Payment for each class. Paid in full when booking charges the whole seat price online. Deposit per seat, rest at the class charges the deposit you set, and the client pays the rest at the class. Gift vouchers can be used for seats. Payments go to your own Stripe account, with the same 0.5% Lustre Payments fee as appointments. You need Stripe connected in Booking settings to sell seats.

Classes on your site

Upcoming classes are listed under your services, with the seats left, and Classes is added to your site's menu. Tapping a class opens the booking page, where clients choose how many seats, enter their details, accept your booking and visit rules, and pay. A class comes off sale when its first session starts, and shows Sold out when every seat is taken. Under Classes on your site you can change the heading and intro, then press Save heading and intro.

Attendees and payments at the class

Press Attendees on a class to see each booking: name, seats, reference, phone, email and what has been paid. Clients get a confirmation email when they book and a reminder the day before. When a client pays the rest at the class, choose how they paid and press the Mark paid button, which shows the amount (for example Mark $80.00 paid). Class payments are included in your Xero sales export.

Cancelling seats or a class

To cancel one booking, open Attendees and press Cancel and refund. Anything paid online is refunded to the client's card, a gift voucher can be used again, and the client is emailed. To cancel the whole class, press Cancel class. It comes off your site and calendar, and every booking is refunded and emailed. As with appointments, the Lustre Payments fee is not refunded when you refund a client.
